Simply complex.
Federal authorities, capping a three-year investigation, are preparing insider-trading charges that could ensnare consultants, investment bankers, hedge-fund and mutual-fund traders, and analysts across the nation, according to people familiar with the matter.
This is going to be interesting to watch.
The formation of the euro-zone and the unified currency, is looking more and more like a bad idea. The people of countries such as France and Germany are footing the bills for politicians in countries where they have no direct say. It’s a form of taxation without representation, and the people shouldn’t (and won’t in my opinion stand for it).
An an interesting report has appeared on the website Zerohedge. It got picked up by FT.com but then removed when the Spanish news media got wind of it. An anonymous blogger sent Zerohedge a report that looked at the numbers and found the Spanish government might be cooking the books, so to speak, on their actual GDP numbers.
You can find the full report here, but essentially, they believe that on a positive estimate, the actual decline in Spanish GDP over 2008-2009 as being a whopping 17.3% (in the most favourable scenario), instead of what the government actually reported, which was 3.1%
If this is true, we are really looking at a complete meltdown of the euro zone in the very near future. Something has got to give. Either the PIIGS have to be kicked out, or at least, removed from the euro currency, or we are looking at some serious trouble ahead.
I have discussed this with some friends of mine in Spain who actually talk about it knowingly, and if they know, it is reasonable to assume the politicians in Brussels also know. Before the bust, Spain went through a massive housing boom, not unlike the United States, where banks (funded by the savings of the Germans and the French), were giving out loans at 0% and zero money design. People would buy property, and hock it off months later for a nice profit, inflating the housing prices drastically.
No-one did anything, because everyone was happy in this delusional growth. The people made money. The government made money (through taxes on the capital gains etc) and the system seemed to work. The government, flush with money, squandered it on creating green jobs, that the market didn’t require (heralded by left wings everywhere of a truly progressive government) (Hmm remind you of any other countries?). This has accumulated into the situation we have now. A government so overburdened with debt, a people sick and tired of austerity measures and a state which is dragging down the entire united states of Europe.
Haiti's parliament has approved the creation of a commission that will allow foreign donors to participate in deciding how to rebuild the poor Caribbean nation after its devastating January 12 earthquake.
What does that mean? People with a lot of money have now taking control of the country. Who is the leader of this commission? President Bill Clinton.
Unfortunately these days you need to be a bit more weary when searching the net. Tor is a powerful way to secure your internet connection. Chrome is an awesome browser with powerful extension capabilities. Join these together, and you have an awesome privacy machine. Also, if you live in Australia, there is an impending great privacy violation in regards to the great firewall of Australia. This will probably help you get past it.
1. Get Tor
What is tor? It's is ridiculously hard to explain so I wont. So try Here and Here to get an explanation.
Get your download here.
Install it and use all the default setups. A great guide, again from the Tor website is found here.
2. Get Proxy Switchy! Extension for Google Chrome.
Proxy Switchy is an excellent extension for Google Chrome which lets you seamlessly manage your proxies. Due to the nature of proxies, Tor connections are generally slower than your direct connection, so you don't want to be jumping through hoops every time you want your information to be private.
If you used the standard Tor setup, your proxy details are as follows:
HTTP Proxy: localhost
Port: 8118
Click on Proxy Switchy options and fill in as following.
All done.
3.Get your privacy on!
Now every time you want your privacy kept, click on the Switchy Proxy setting and select Tor.
Hope this helps, and yes this will probably help you get past the great firewall of Australia.
